Living The Good Life

I reflect upon good and bad and properly use these impressions,

Command my will,

Some say, I have consciousness.

Understand and know, I am conscious.

Shame not consciousness or do it harm,

Here is my strength: I can get what I want and avoid what I don’t want, use the proper impulse, a careful purpose, use a studied assent.

This is my job: to practice living ‘the good life’.

Who on this planet is up for change and will risk their life for it?

Will it be an internal or external event?

Most likely a little of both.

The United Nations’ (UN) International Day of Peace is celebrated on September 21 each year to recognize the efforts of those who have worked hard to end conflict and promote peace. The International Day of Peace is also a day of ceasefire – personal or political.

The more important question is about day two.

There is a need for continuing the work to a final conclusion:365 a year.

With this actuality, progress can continue to be strived for with concrete outcomes and a direction to improve on the day to day peace, ad infinitum…

Individuals need to be engaged, repeatedly to attempt a dialogue and affirmative action for ongoing continual peace.

John Lennon said it best, “Give peace a chance.”

Day by day, an actual scale to approach for everyone, in a spirit of collaboration and cooperation.

Collapsed Bed

Assemble it with screwdriver and wrench.

Easier said than done, my eyesight is poor, I need light and eye glasses.

The moody frustration bursts out, “Come on.”

I tighten the damn screw while holding the nut with the wrench and simultaneously controlling my frustration.

Put everything aside in handy location and return to my repaired bed for a shortened night sleep.

The Plight Of Getting It Right

Every new habit has its ups and downs,

But TV watching is a pseudonym for alcoholic without drinking in self destruct mode, but watching anything in self destruct mode!

I need to eat 3 meals a day, sleep 7 hours, work 8 hours and travel for an hour= 24 hours – 19 hours=5 hours

5 hours to live the good life each day.

But one hour is spent preparing for the next day. That leaves 4 hours watching TV.

After 50 years of viewing 4 hours a day, I have spent 20 or so years trying to change this bad habit.

Being addicted to TV 📺 is a slow suicide!

I have a plan to do something else each day. I am replacing it with playing guitar, listening to music, exercise, waking, going to the library, journaling, reading and writing, learning and much much more…

Anything but TV!

What is your poison?

Twenty Years Old

Everyone makes decisions, changes, and makes news.

Some feel out of it. But it helps to gain control by saving, taking care of yourself, being around good people and being easier on yourself.

Here is some advice for any twenty in 2019: be yourself, don’t base yourself on others, finish school believe in yourself, no pity trips and don’t worry or hurry.

You need a lean body mass, moderation with alcohol, no smoking, good exercise and nutrition, cut back on sugar, make a war on processed food, live an active life, practice portion control, make a job you love and don’t fall for ageism shit!

Like getting on with life.

The inner voice is key, but not to see or hear or sense,

Learning to let go, calm down or unplug is counter intuitive,

It’s doing a lot of nothing, to get a sense of yourself,

Learn to sit with yourself, then decide

Your best decisions will come by learning to unplug, disconnect and be with yourself,

All of you, we all need help getting there,

Perhaps you can start by sitting with yourself.
