Journal Entry

Sunday December 18,2022. 18=R=Roger

Stress Tip list? Write things down so I do not harm my mind with things to stress about tonight. I have managed my Xmas shopping and then some. I brought all my gifts ready for Don, and I have a few gift card holders for last minute possibilities.

I gassed up in case or when it snows. I am thinking the worst and hoping for a short week. The forecast seems bad till the holidays weekend: Arctic front.

I am working on stress management. I research ,read and blog about it.

I believe I can create a better way to live this way. A good life requires that I do the things I need and want to do to have a work/play balance. And I must maintain my boundaries while I do this each day. I need rituals and routines and practices. To engage my life, I need people, places and things. You can fill in the blank for yourself and others you choose or need to live with each day.

So often, I feel better after getting through the work and play each day. Then I rest and relax and get ready for another day.

VIRUS DIARY: Facing the Coronavirus, Still Haunted by Ebola – The New York Times

“Are you going to die?” my 8-year-old daughter asked me the other day. “They said on the radio that adults are getting sick and dying.”

This and that can be a serious topic…

Like most, journaling is therapy for the writer, reader and hopefully the family friends and community.

A dire hope is that all will support the effort by whatever name it is called, wisdom tells us we can not see until we get past the name.

But some words are truer than others: hiv/ aids, Ebola, and the COVID-19 ( are to only name a few)

Please, support the effort.

Revisit “How To Mind Map”

What is important to you, that allows you to understand, remember, think about being, doing, making and creating…

Follow and practice the simple method bellow when learning or writing, journaling or note taking…

Show a child how to learn by showing them how to mind map.

The Benefits Of Dying

  • health
  • survivor’s pension
  • the spiritual benefits of dying
  • after a death
  • medical assistance in dying
  • the dying process
  • signs of a dying person
  • the dying experience

the benefits of walking it off,

Okay, we are all going to die someday.

And we all need to face the bullet topic of the inevitable listed above.

But not today.

When, and only when you are ready.

Start, by thinking about death and dying at your own pace.

A little goes a long way, prevention (of death) is the only goal.

Epicureans And Academics

God is dead.

Pleasure is good.

Although the domain reaches from the edge of stoicism to the edge of Atheism,

It is unacceptable to proper use of impressions.

Much like God is unacceptable to Atheism.

The academics are much more subtle in there antinaturalism and Atheism.

They both preach neutrality, and acceptance of other.

The logic is sound, but the expression of passion is mute.

Surely, the experience leaves much to be desired in real life.

My Unpredictable Element…

She is my rain.

I drove her like I drove the car.

I always did what was needed but it was within my limits.

I was willing to take risks but within my own experience and expertise.

So, in the public’s eyes, I was not a success,

Writing was my dream come true, everyday, in everyway.

For a job or vocation, it was adequate.

But for a thing, I was able to love it more than any other thing.

Mike’s Vintage Tolkien Related Reference Books (The books people buy who are nuts about J.R.R. Tolkien)

The book sale downtown is too tempting to resist.

My four purchases all range in topics related to Tolkien.

Do you like to journal?  Have you ever thought about specializing in a journal topic?

If so, google “A Hobbit’s Journal from the collection of Sam Gamgee” by illustrator Michael Green.

Do you like Tolkien and Trivia?

Pick up a copy of William Mackay’s book, “The Essential Tolkien, Trivia and Quiz Book:  A Middle -earth Miscellany.

How about “a reader’s companion to The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings”?

Lastly, “The Man Who Created The Lord of the Rings” by Michael Coren, do you want to read an autobiography on J.R.R. Tolkien?

I could tell you what I am doing with all these books, but that would be no fun.

Maybe, one of the titles will inspire a purchase at your local ( vintage book section ) bookstore.

Good luck with your literary adventures.

Laundry

Drinking coffee and waiting for final spin…

Multitasking, cooking chicken legs and doing dish while laundry drys.

Need to be at moms by ten, two hour project.

On treadmill till then, but going for wine and pizza at moms.

Back by two to prepare for the week,

Wind down before bed, read and write with no device!

And spicy add on’s like meals, exercise, music, research, blogging and philosophy, etc

The Good Life Journal

I have been doing a journal most of my life.

If you find any merit in doing the same you may want to try this five minute experiment for each day.  I will make serial entries about this topic on the blog to help those who may wish to try journaling out.  Here is a template to copy or use to get you started.
