AI On Bing Vs. Me: Stoicism

AI: That’s a good question. I think it depends on how you define a lifestyle and something more. For some people, Stoicism is just a set of tools and techniques that they use to cope with life’s challenges and improve their well-being. For others, Stoicism is a way of life that shapes their values, beliefs, and actions. For some, Stoicism is even a spiritual path that connects them with the divine reason or logos that governs the universe.

What do you think? How do you see Stoicism in your life?

Me: It is about Cicero, On Living and Dying Well. I referred to a big piece of it in my last blog entry on Michael’s Space. “Grab Hold Of Yourself And Stop Being Afraid Of Your Freedom”. My blog will continue to have elements in future blog posts. But first, do no harm to myself and others. And remember this is about being and doing.

Why Understanding And Accepting ‘Argument’ Is Important

In today’s society, people are becoming dumber, unengaged, and too nice.

Dumber, because technically we don’t think enough to work out our own problems, nor do we help sort out societal problems.

Luckily there is a way out. Or through our modern day dilemma.

Unengaged, because we isolate, avoid others and remain uninformed about the very issues causing all these symptoms in society today.

Too nice, we have been followers in one of the riches cultural exchanges of this generation.

Sink or swim? Stop. Think. Decide.

You need to learn to reverse course, learn why and how to argue.

Woke And The Effects on Society

https://x.com/arthurlherman/status/1697653043594989860?s=46&t=sNI8DJcAvG8Z13OWHxoCdg

There is a lot of fear and unrest as a result of left wing authoritarian behaviour.

Optics tend to be difficult to control due to the instability that people are creating on multimedia.

It appears we all need to become aware of the insecurity and instability many citizens and cultures are undergoing in society today.

Many stable professionals like the author above are trying to reach out on platforms like twitter to get word out about the pitfalls and dangers.

It may be more important for average people to find out what will work for them.

This is a ‘story’ that is just getting bigger.

Stay tuned for further posts with #woke effects on society today.

Email Chainmail Of Sorts

My challenge to you is to read this blog which states for all those who purport to do good in this world to do the following.

1. Write an email to somebody enclosing a positive message.

2. Tell them to write another (positive) email to somebody else with the instruction to do the same.

Get it, got it, good!

Who Do You Want Socrates To Be?

He is learning to be a better person.

I am doing the same by learning from my teacher : Epictetus.

Who is your teacher?

I think Socrates posits the question best through getting to know himself and staying anonymous ( not writing much down and becoming complex through a student called Plato).

I like it that money is available but not to excess.

I like it that education is key to being a better person.

It seems important to do my best and do no harm.

It is tragic that Socrates died to prove a life is worth living.

But if I truly understand, I may yet be free from the clutches of vice and ruin.

I believe in a living life kind of stoicism.

To be rational, find mental and moral health and let go of hate or a lack of compassion for yourself or others.

I guess I believe in quality of life.

Why Prevent Disease?

Some would argue, we have done all we can with traditional medicine and prevention is the next best thing.

Preventative Medicine?

I believe the progenitor of all ways are the pursuit of prevention through philosophy, belief, and imagination or curiosity.

We understand through the senses, primarily sight.

We cure or prevent through thinking outside the box.

The way we do this is through belief.

The best way to believe is to theorize and practice or experiment on yourself in a way that does no harm.

Become your healthspan.

Prevent disease before it happens to you or just live a healthy life.

Pursue health wealth and well being through the senses.

Find what works for you and do it.

This all sounds rather childish without a blueprint to follow.

A good life is the practice of what works for you while doing the least amount of harm to yourself and others.

Examine or get to know yourself.

Find out what you are doing that is self destructive to you and others.

Make a sincere effort to turn those bad habits around.

While you do all the above, keep looking for what works for you and do it.

You will prevent problems in your lifestyle and Improve your healthspan.

Humour yourself and try to do it for a few weeks, reassess and convince yourself to do it again.

If you need some encouragement to continue, come back here and look for some or look somewhere you can find it and do it for another few week. Keep building this habit until it becomes a lifelong habit passion, healthspan!

The Old Guitar

What’s the oldest thing you own that you still use daily?

My Yamaha C40

I usually fool around with it for 5 or ten minutes a day.

I bought it new in 2013, that makes it about ten years old.

Not much else around here I use that much, I moved back in 2004 and basically started over.

And my interpretation of daily use is key.

Because I do use my guitar each day but I have many thing ten years and older I use once in a while based on need or want.

I pulled out my SIN card the other day, it must be at least 40 years old.

Get To Know The Body

It’s a loaner.

If you think it’s yours you will cause harm through this false identity.

It needs a plan that is simple routine that requires your patience and understanding to perform on the regular basis.

If you don’t plan simply into a daily routine with a basic practice, you will do harm and loose or injure or worse.

It needs to be watched and learnt to become useful healthy and strong.

It needs to be owned by you and released to live a good life because eventually it will die or loose the ability to be used or identified as a body.

Can He Communicate Under Stress?

Can he communicate under stress when a human life is in the balance?

Can he do that?

If it’s a human life that isn’t in jeopardy but a toilet to clean, can he communicate under stress?

What do you wish you can do?

(Do your best and do no harm, using the proper use of impressions.)

Discipline = Freedom

The False Self Vs. The True Self

In this dialogue, the conscious self talks to the subconscious self to find a balance and repair some emotional and mental knots.

Conscious self: I want to make it perfectly clear that I am happy you make me feel so much pain and that I suffer so.

Subconscious self: I have been listening to you for years. Can you hear me?

cs: Like I was saying, I think D.W. Winnicott has got a lot of it right about mothers and children. When my brother died, I felt very sad and I still do.

ss: Did you hear me? I have been telling you about your brother for years.

cs: I say, did you recommend that book “Solitude: Return To The Self by Anthony Storr? It talks about Winnicott, “The Capacity To Be Alone.

ss: Yes, you use to go out side at 50 bellow to be alone.

cs: I have a sort of practice going on how to be alone.

ss: We do. And it is starting to work after 60 years.

cs: ‘We must reserve a little back-shop, all our own, entirely free, wherein to establish our true liberty and principle retreat and solitude.’ Montaigne

ss: I better get going and make some more friends.
