International Skeptics Day 2024

What principles define how you live?

It may be kind to say I am curious as most people are in life.

Like most people I believe I am different for a variety of reasons.

I crew up in a middle class 1st world country which is difficult to do bad or well unless I use philosophy to give me meaning and purpose in my day to day affairs. At least that is what I believe.

I do not trust the common narrative that I am in control. But I do ‘feel’ in control most days. I usually find help and support and live well enough in my situation.

I believe it is worth doing what is hard. For one it helps me renew my resources. I believe in helping through cooperation and collaboration.

So, it is hard for me to control my life sufficiently to be free. But it is worthwhile for me to pursue a ‘good life’.

I believe in optimism and consider myself an optimistic philosopher who thinks it is necessary to question my day to day living in all my affairs. I don’t believe I am perfect, but that doesn’t stop me from being a life long learner to pursue happiness.

I believe in history but I have a skepticism that keeps me honest.

I have spent a lifetime getting to know myself and wish everyone a chance to do the same.

Good luck.
