‘The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas’

Living ‘the good life’, in a negative way,

At the expense of ‘the child in the closet’.  It is in the closet, sitting in it’s own excrement.

Are we living an idealized life that is keeping the world in the closet?

Is this a contract between the few and the many?  Our own western civilization and the world?

Le Guin’s “The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas”
