By Jove

The Roman God Is A People’s God.

Once loved by the mob, the power of the elite took all:  slave, people’s lives and the very god to be themselves.

As the Emperor, declared himself god, the power of corruption became the fall of the Roman Empire.

As little as a century ago, this saying was a common enough way to express surprize.

And Shakespeare has immortalized ‘Jove’.

An Atheist can show a sober way to emphasis it.
