A safety vest is tested to meet the needs of various jobs.

I used the classification to determine the level of protection I need walking to work in high volume traffic approaching speeds of 60 kilometres an hour. My job is located in an industrial area where many vehicles compete for space and time. Generally, it is a dense area that approaches the above speeds or lower but has many oversized vehicles with limited visibility. I go early between 5 and 6 in the morning when it is dark and many of the workers are arriving for work.

I picked the class 2, level two jack that has meeted my needs for the last few years.

Unfortunately, the reflection quality dims after 25 washes. I generally buy a new jacket for these reasons every three to five year.

At 60 dollars a pop, I would like a break, but I have yet to find an innovative way to recoup the expense.

Blogman

Let’s make some money through copywriting.

I want to sell you an idea.

My ad is called “Blogman”.

He is a philosopher king, not exactly a Socrates, but definitely a messenger.

He is part Socrates because he uses the Socratic method to sell you the product…

What do you love?

What is your good?

What is the proper way to sell love and goodness for a man?

I have been writing copy on these products for over ten years.

I enjoy making a gift of the idea by expressing it with tags like philosophy, inspiration, preaching non-violence, proper use of impressions, etc.

I take the approach of applying philosophy in my own life through meditation, journaling, writing, study, research and being a lifelong learner.

My point of view is that of a transparent, blogging, man.

I give my energy and attention.

I would like to attract the same to sell this product at a fair price.

Thanks

Is ‘Good’ It’s Own Reward?

History will tell the story.

But before that comes personal experience.

I have seen some good in my time.

For instance, learning to do good.

There is a tipping point where enough personal experience will show perspective.

There are a lot of feelings, thoughts, actions and belief that need to occur to build up enough experience to glimpse the truth.

I am not trying to convince anyone of the truth.

To be honest, most of us need to learn enough to find the way.

But I have discovered a good feeling, leads to a good thought which leads to a good action that produces a good belief. And that will help build a vision for my future.

Now, I can’t get there myself.

I have learnt that I need to cooperate with others in a good way to overcome the mistakes that others will do with me. I am not blaming others.

There is a lot of people that are still busy learning from their mistakes. Just like me.

To visualize where I want to head in my future, I have been targeting specific beliefs in my life. This is not a recipe for truth. What is good for the goose is not necessarily good for the gander. Or it may not work for you.

There is an axiom in my life: the hole in my heart THAT needs to be healed by doing good for myself and others.

There is another axiom that might be useful, it is for me, consciousness is like an onion, its development is in layers.

I believe I am developing a consciousness my entire life. As I progress, I am able to live a better and better life. My life will never be perfect, but with the appropriate ‘good’ in my life, I can learn to build a improved version of the life I am building at the moment.

I believe that seeing the good in myself and others allow me to control myself in better and better ways.

But another way, I learn from my mistakes because I admit my mistakes and cooperate with others that are willing to help me change for the better.

I have learnt I need to find ‘good’ to heal my heart when it becomes harmed by myself or others.

Philosophy has shown me to examine the reality in my life to overcome my own desire.

But that is another story.

At first this meant to abstain from acting on desire until I can overcome my craving or lack of self control.

Eventually, the same belief grew into I no longer crave this same desire, or I have no desire for this particular thought, action and belief and experience it for its good.

I am saying that I believe it is possible for me to learn to overcome unhealthy desires and change enough to live with healthier choices.

It is like the pain I felt in my heart has healed and I still recognize the folly that use to attract me to do bad for myself and others, but now I feel the good in the exact situation but only choose good.

My personal belief is that we all grow our own conscious based on our choices.

Therefore, good is its own reward.

A Good Heart

I don’t know what to think of my heart, but after ten years of living the good life, I am closer to perfecting it.

What is good-truth or knowledge?

Plato would tell you good is more beautiful than either of these.

Perhaps, good is to know justice and beauty.

The form good takes from its highest thought of a just thing or created object is of practical advantageous use.

Absolute good is good none the less. But to have a good appetite is not as good as a good heart and mind. And by this good, all is virtuous.

To understand good is not the same as learning to be good. An intellectual pursuit will only produce an intellectual end.

To define good from everything else, the real good. Will not lead one to being good. For it is through conscious agency that good evolves in humanity.

To make a good world, many good people must make it so.

If happiness is good, surely we must all pursue it. For if there is good, there must be evil or a bad way to live.

To Practice Critical Thinking

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socratic_method

‘Know thyself’ and help others do the same.

Using the Socratic Method May promote more than critical thinking.

Especially when practicing meditation and journaling together with study, research and critical thinking, reading and writing.

Why not be a lifelong learner?

Sleep Mistakes and how the human body regulates itself

B. F. Skinner kinda had it right when he said we are just a bunch of behaviours, not good or bad, but a bunch of habits…

Okay, one mistake is to go without sleep, the human body needs about 7 or 8 hours for the average adult and anything less, bad things begin to happen to us all.

Mother nature left it up to us to regulate our sleep, I can sleep anyway I am willing to sleep, that doesn’t mean I will pick the healthiest way, but it is up to me.

The habit of sleep is arguably the most important habit I can form. It would be a mistake to say otherwise.

Think of the human body as a vessel. Throw in salt, a banana, pinch of dirt, a piece of raw fish, water, garden salad. Maybe some pepper and a small piece of plastic from the wrapper on the fish that I bought. What do you have besides my supper?

Yes, it is probably a mistake to have eaten that plastic. Micro particles will get in my bloodstream and gawd knows what kind of mistake that will do to my body and therefore the quality of my sleep tonight.

So the body mixes up all these foods and breaks them down into smaller and smaller bits that are used for nutrients, chemicals and other stuff in the ways of the universe to fuel my body processes.

There is a lot of room for mistakes there, because the body does all sorts of things we do not understand. Bottom line, millions of years of evolution has worked out most of the kinks, the plastic will probably be eliminated through the bowels, mostly the way we made it.

We are what we eat, mostly true, and the above meal is a pretty good supper. So, as long as I don’t make too many more mistakes, I will mostly have a pretty good sleep tonight.

A big sleep mistake is not to follow my sleep routine. I go to bed about the same time every night and wake up about the same time too. I sleep in a cool room and that has been proven to work better than a hot room or other. I sleep in the dark, that is also essential. I keep a blanket handy, if I wake up from the cold. That helps. And I don’t eat too close to betime or do anything else to disrupt my sleep routine: hygiene is good. You know clean sheets, sleep nude or with pajamas, low noise level, I already said ‘dark’, same thing everynight.

Sleeping pills are generally a mistake too.

Drinking is generally a mistake too.

So, unless our parents taught us good habits when we were kids, it takes time to figure all this out.

Human health depends on exercise, nutrition, good habits and sleep.

Our health, if disrupted by our genitics, environment or poor choices will also affect our sleep. This can become a slippery slope. Ask anyone who has had some cold or flu. Therefore, it pays to keep a strong immune system to fight off whatever mother nature throws our way.

Epigenetics are also pretty important too.

So any novice statistical analysis can show there is room for improvement for anyone who wants to make their sleep better.

What about the human microbiome? Yup, that could help with a good night sleep.

So, taking some responsibility for a good sleep and a long healthy life is partially up to you.

Maybe sleep hypnosis can help?

The list is long and the mistakes are even more numerous.

Sleep well and prosper.

My Globe and Mail Newspaper

From September 12, 2020 to October 9, 2020, the digital copy will cost me $29.36.

In 2018, it cost $25.16. I’ve been a customer since at least 2016.

Or that is as far as my payment history will allow me to see.

So much for ‘basic’ service.

I have had little use for the paper, in that I’ve read it, faithfully, once or twice a week.

Mostly, I skim through it.

I’ve written a few blogs about related articles on topics of interest.

I like the newspaper, and I encourage others to read and subscribe to the service.

It is a great way to get some news coverage and an important ‘go to’ news source.

I feel there is a better way to keep up with the news.

I like to support good coverage, listen and read the local, municipal and national news.

Most of this is covered in the Globe and Mail and other similar papers in other countries around the world.

They keep a close control over their financial interest.

And they work hard to keep it running smoothly and on time to turn a fair profit.

All in all I give it a 7 or 9 out of ten. Please read more about the importance of news, the history and the need to support ‘good’ news coverage.

I highly recommend Wikipedia as an information source for facts and accuracy.

Freedom is my goal for staying informed and doing my part . It requires that I do a reasonable job and try hard to learn and understand the world I choose to support.

Lastly, a word about free will and anonymity. Better choices are hard to make without them. I choose to live with compassion, proper use of impressions and without necessarily making it public knowledge.

I think I can be safer and healthier this way.

I am grateful for the resources to live in this world.

Good luck with your journey and happy trails…
